What will the event include?
This event is a themed mindfulness evening and will include:
- A talk on the theme “Be the Difference Today” by Chris Joseph and Rich Waterman.
- Fully guided mindfulness meditation practices including a body scan and kindly awareness practice.
- An opportunity to learn a little more about mindfulness, relax and enjoy!
This theme has been inspired by a recent initiative that my good friend Rich Waterman has set-up. Rich is a mindset coach and international speaker. The initiative is focused on providing the conditions to allow people to move away from the constant and often frantic doing mode that we often find ourselves living in to a being mode where we can feel more centred, calm and focused.
Mindfulness meditation allows us to move more from the doing mode to the being mode. Being in the being mode doesn’t mean that we necessarily ‘do’ less! What it does mean, however, is that our actions come from a far more grounded and stable place. In turn, we are more likely to ‘be the difference’ for ourselves and others around us.
The evening will explore the inspiration for the initiative and how it relates to mindfulness.
Who is the event suitable for?
This event is suitable for all. The mindfulness meditations during the evening will be fully guided so no prior meditation experience is required.
Where is the event being held?
This event is being held at Woodland Retreat Yoga Centre, Llanishen, Cardiff. The yoga studio is set within half an acre of listed woodland, providing an oasis of calm within the city of Cardiff.
We are very pleased to be able to offer this as a new venue for Chris Joseph Mindfulness Training events.

Who will be your trainer?
Your trainer for this evening will be Chris Joseph, and there will also be a short talk by our guest Rich Waterman. Chris is a fully qualified Breathworks Mindfulness Trainer, and has been practicing mindfulness regularly since 2007. You can read more about Chris by clicking here.
Do I need to bring any equipment?
There will be some yoga mats, bolsters, cushions and blankets available at the event, but these are limited and will be issued on a first come, first served basis! Chairs will be available for those who require one to meditate in – please indicate this on the booking form below.
A ‘lying down’ body scan meditation, as well as a ‘sitting up’ kindly awareness meditation are planned for the event and as such it is recommended that you bring some meditation equipment if you have it. For example, 2 blankets (one to lie on and one to cover yourself with) in addition to 2/3 cushions should suffice. A yoga mat might also be useful to bring if you have one.
If you are unable to bring any equipment then that’s fine, just indicate this in the ‘Any Special Details’ box on the booking form below and we will make sure that equipment is provided for you.
